Team Canada U15-Selects team
Well done Goteh Ntignee for representing Team Canada at the U-15 National Showcase
Over the last couple months, individual successes have been recognized amongst the United 02 Boys team. Goteh Ntignee and Salim Abdella were invited to participate in
the U-15 national ID camp. Canada Soccer's identification camps provide players with an opportunity to showcase themselves while also earning an initial introduction to the Canadian national youth teams program. Canada Soccer worked closely with provincial and territorial soccer associations as well as clubs and academies in selecting players for these camps.
With success at the camp in Burnaby, Goteh was invited to be part of the U-15 National Showcase as part of Canada U-15 select team. This team consisted of players from across the country that who are not part of a residency program. Here the boys had an opportunity to showcase their talents against players on the Whitecaps, Impact Montreal, FC Edmonton and FC Toronto’s U-15 teams.
Coach Ruben Vasquez Sr. had this message to pass onto his players:
The recent news about Goteh being selected for a showcase with Canada National Teams is simply great. It’s not only because he deserves this opportunity, but because it also clearly shows that with determination, focus and discipline such success can be attained. Goteh has not achieved this alone. Danny Clark has been a tremendous support and mentor all the way. At EMFC we also believe we have contributed to help him on whatever means was possible. All the boys on the United 02 team have played a vital factor in motivating him, in lifting him up, and making him believe. With every passing day, practice and game, such dreams can be achieved. For my part, I only can say, that I see more players like him going the same path, and following his example. I sincerely thank God with all my heart, for being the coach of such a wonderful group of kids that make our team. Keep dreaming, believe in yourselves and work hard. Bravo Goteh, we are all very proud of you.
